Ron Dermer is the Israeli minister for economic affairs in Washington. For nearly ten years, he worked in Israel as a consultant, advising some of the country's leading politicians, including Benjamin Netanyahu and Natan Sharansky. For nearly three years, he was a columnist for the Jerusalem Post. In 2004, he co-authored, with Natan Sharansky, The Case For Democracy: The Power of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny and Terror. His brother David Dermer is in his second term as Mayor of Miami Beach and his father Jay Dermer was a two term Mayor of Miami Beach as well.[1]
