The Kurdistan Region in Iraq All-Party Parliamentary Group aims to:

promote friendship and understanding between the people of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq and Great Britain and to encourage the development of democratic institutions in the Kurdistan Region as part of the democratic and federal process in the rest of Iraq. [1]

Funding

Parliamentary adviser Gary Kent is paid directly by Gulf Keystone Petroleum International Ltd to provide secretariat services for the group. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) UK Representation provides additional administrative services, occasional dinners for parliamentarians and organises an annual reception in conjunction with the group. The KRG and KRG UK also fund group delegations to the Kurdistan Region.[1]

Secretariat

Gary Kent, from the office of David Anderson, is paid by Gulf Keystone Petroleum International to act as the group's secretariat.

Benefits in kind

In June 2015, it was registered that Gulf Keystone had paid Kent (in bands of £1,500) £13,501-£15,000 in benefits for the role.[2]

In December 2015, it was registered that the Qaiwan Group paid (in bands of £1,500) £18,001-£19-500 for a to Kurdistan from the 11th-16th November 2015, covering the cost of flights and accommodation. [3]

The Kurdistan Regional Government was also registered as having contributed to the visit, covering the cost of internal transport and accommodation, paying (in bands of £1,500) £9,001-£10,500.[3]
