James Gurling is managing director of British lobbying agency MHP Communications and a member of the UK Liberal Democrats federal executive.

He previously worked with Hanover Communications. [1]

Gurling has previously worked for Liberal Democrat party leaders Paddy Ashdown and Charles Kennedy.

He served 12 years as a local Lib Dem councillor in a range of positions including as Chair of the Planning Committee, and is currently a member of the Party’s federal executive.

James is a communications consultant with over 20 years experience in strategic regulatory and public affairs counsel. His career includes in-house, agency and in the regional media. From broadcasting to bread making, termination rates to taxation, James has a successful track record in transforming complex regulatory challenges into achievable public policy objectives.
