Jake Sumner is currently chief political adviser to Chuka Umunna, the shadow business secretary.
Sumner used to work as political adviser to John Denham who is the member of parliament for Southampton Itchen, a role which he has filled since 1992.
Sumner also served for Denham when he was the secretary of state for the Department of Communities and Local Government from 2009 to 2010. [1]
