Martin Agerup

Martin Agerup is a co-founder, president and chief executive of CEPOS, an independent Danish think tank based in Copenhagen. He is an economist and economic historian, graduated from the Universities in Bristol and Exeter, England. He is a former member of the Danish European Movement's Executive Committee and a member of the Danish European Movement's think tank "Yes to Europe". He is also a Fellow of the International Policy Network in London.

Between 2002 – 2004 Agerup was an independent consultant, associated with GCI Future. From 1998 to 2002, he worked as management-consultant in Connector LLC, where he worked primarily with organizational development in the public and private sector, evaluation assignments, value-based management and project management. Furthermore, he advised on the ideas and technologies that shape the future.

From 1992 to 1998 Agerup was a researcher and later project manager at the Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies. He worked on sector analysis (specifically on the transportation sector) evaluation, analysis and the development of labour market, new technology, globalization, trends and attitudes and interview surveys. He is a former research fellow at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies and former president of the Danish Academy for Futures Studies.

Before co-founding CEPOS in 2004, Agerup worked as a speaker, columnist and consultant, and contributed to several bestselling Danish books about a global business trends and the environment. He has appeared in all major Danish electronic media and is one of the most cited opinion leaders in Danish print media. Agerup offers an explanation in great detail to organisations how to be competitive and still exercise corporate social responsibility. He explains how to deal with anti-capitalist, anti-technology and anti-globalisation sentiments as well as focusing on positive change management and the upside of the impact for businesses of climate change.
