Vladimir Tismaneanu "is professor of government and director of the Center for the Study of Post-Communist Societies at the University of Maryland–College Park. Since 1998, he has been the editor of East European Politics and Societies. He is the author of numerous books on East European history and politics, including, most recently, Stalinism for All Seasons: A Political History of Romanian Communism (2003). His articles and interviews have appeared in major American and European publications, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and the Times Literary Supplement." [1]
