Revision as of 09:43, 23 October 2008

I am being specific. "Footnotes all over the place" is not a specific source for the following suggestion about Adelson funding EMET.

I am happy to query things with you, as you said you preferred, rather than simply going straight in and editing your articles, which is my assigned job description. If you don't source stuff, you risk it being deleted. The Spinwatch sourcing guidelines are clear and can be read in the Editorial Policy bit of the "Help" section.

The question of whether to be involved with Spinprofiles is, of course, a personal decision that everyone makes for him or herself.

Thanks--Claire Robinson 15:36, 21 October 2008 (BST)

HI Paul

can you source this, please, on EMET page? At the moment it looks too much like guesswork for public consumption.

thanks, c

Funding

Sheldon Adelson, the "richest Jew in America" and a fervent zionist, features in the name of EMET's lecture series ("Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Policy Seminar Series"), and it is very likely that EMET is yet another project funded by Adelson to promote his first love: Israel.

another thing-- Funding the Obsession Project

we at GM Watch were involved in endless legal shenanigans as a result of just such a title. We could have avoided it all (our accuser as much as said this) if we had gone to the simple expedient of adding a "?" to our article title, "Award for a fraud". Maybe add one to this or couch the title in more circumspect words--your reader will still get the point and reach intended conclusion.

HiC

Why don't you add the list of the stuff you are working on in your own talk page?

Hi Paul,

I think claire was referring to the following sentence: Sheldon Adelson, the "richest Jew in America" and a fervent zionist, features in the name of EMET's lecture series ("Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Policy Seminar Series"), and it is very likely that EMET is yet another project funded by Adelson to promote his first love: Israel.

There are no refs for this and there is a quote and so we need a ref for the quote and probably a more general one on Adelson and his activities and views. No?

Zionism

Hi, I have started a page on this : http://www.spinprofiles.org/index.php/Zionism

I think this may be the way to state what exactly is meant and allow us to get past any issues on the use of the term.

Interesting stuff. We probably need some more background on this. Any of this of any use?: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist_Action_(UK)

Also are we sure that 'most' of Livingstones people were SA? Is there a source for that? or should we say 'many'? And is it really true that Livingstone wroites under a pseudonym? We also need sources on the pseudonymous writings...
