Tony Danker is a former special adviser to the HM Treasury. He worked for Liam Byrne when he was minister of state for the treasury and their chief secretary between 2008 to 2010. Whilst in this role he focused on public sector reform and the economy.


Danker currently works for The Guardian as director for the Guardian News and Media management team (GNM) formerly known as Guardian Media Group, with the responsibility to broader the development of the GNM. Danker most recently led the successful launch of Guardian Australia and continues to lead the International, Rights and Syndication teams. [1]

Background

Before working for the Labour Party Danker was director of communications at public sector consultancy McKinsey & Company from 1998 to 2004, before working as their senior government consultant from 2005 to 2008. [2]
