Talat Yaqoob

Talat Yaqoob is an activist and a campaigns researcher for Scottish Labour and Jim Murphy.

Career

Yaqoob began work as a campaign and events intern at the World Development Movement in 2008, before taking up a role at the National Union of Students, first as mental health campaigns officer and then head of membership development.

In 2012 she was appointed campaigns officer at White Ribbon Scotland, a campaign for men in Scotland who want to end violence against women.

She is currently chair of the board of First Aid Africa, where she is responsible for the financial, governance and ethic direction of the organisation and a private consultant to a number of organisations supporting political engagement, community organising, strategy facilitation and producing learning and development tools.[1]

In January 2015 she was appointed campaigns researcher to the Scottish Labour Party where she will closely with party leader Jim Murphy.[2]
