Sonia Phippard has been a longstanding member at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs having joined in October 2001. She has held three director posts: sustainable agriculture and livestock products (2001-2006), EU and international (2006-2010) and water and flood risk management (2010-2015) before being appointed to the role of director-general, policy delivery in April 2015.
