Simon Levey is a former employee of the Science Media Centre. He now works as Research Media Officer for the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Imperial College London.[1]

Background

Education

Levey graduated with a degree in Biology from University College London in 2004.[2]

In 2007 he studied with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).[3]

Career

Grant Museum of Zoology

Levey has worked in science communication at the Grant Museum of Zoology at University College London.[4]

Science Media Centre

Levey joined the Science Media Centre as Fundraising and Administrative Assistant in October 2005.[2] By 2009 Levey was Centre Co-ordinator.[5]

Imperial College London

Since December 2010 Levey has been Research Media Officer for the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Imperial College London.[1] He edits the Science pages in Imperial's News website in addition to reporting from Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences and Mathematics and research carried out in the Centre for Environmental Policy (CEP) and Imperial's Grantham Institute for Climate Change.[4]

Levey is a presenter in the 'Standing up for Science' media workshop organised by Sense About Science at The Physiological Society in London.[6]
