Sharmini Brookes in 2011

Sharmini Brookes is a freelance writer and is associated with the libertarian anti-environmental LM network. She was a spokesperson for Workers Against Racism in 1993 (using her party name of Sharmini Singh on occasion)[1][2], speaks at the Battle of Ideas, [3] and is a member of its organising committee, [4] likes Big Potatoes on her Facebook profile, [5] writes regularly for Culture Wars, [6] officiates for Debating Matters, [7] participates in Freedom in a Puritan Age, [8] was claimed by the Institute of Ideas [9] was interviewed for a report by the Manifesto Club, [10] writes for Spiked [11] and donated to WORLDwrite. [12]

Shrmini Brookes was born in South Africa in Pietermaritzburg, Natal and grew up in Durban. She obtained a BA Joint Honours in London in English and Italian in 1984 and is now a freelance writer based in Hackney. [13]
