Sarah Platts is a postgraduate student at the London School of Economics where she is pursuing her MSc in Comparative Politics with a focus on Conflict Studies. In London, Sarah is Section Director of the Henry Jackson Society's Global Governance and Strategy section and contributes to the Latin America section. Prior to her move to London, Sarah lived and worked in Washington, DC where she held a research internship at the Institute for National and Strategic Studies (DoD) before working on the staff of Representative Congressman Kevin McCarthy in the United States House of Representatives. Sarah, a California native, graduated with Honors in Political Science, Phi Beta Kappa, cum laude, and with Order of Merit distinction from the University of California, Irvine. Her senior thesis was titled, " 'Never Again', Again? Applying Lessons Learned from International Intervention in Humanitarian Crises to the Ongoing Conflict in Darfur." She is fluent in Spanish after living and studying a year in Madrid, Spain at La Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and is currently giving French her best efforts at the LSE.[1]
