Sally McNamara
Sally McNamara is a Senior Policy Analyst in European Affairs at The Heritage Foundation's Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom.[1]

Background
McNamara is a native of Nottingham and holds an honours degree in politics from Loughborough University.[2]
Conservative Party
McNamara won twice elected to Nottingham City Council and served as East Midland regional press officer for the Conservative Party. She subsequently served as chief parliamentary aide to Conservative MEP Roger Helmer.[3]
American Legislative Exchange Council
In 2004, McNamara moved to America where she became Director of International Relations for the American Legislative Exchange Council.[4]
Heritage Foundation
- McNamara joined Heritage in 2006 and now concentrates on American relations with the European Union and European countries, with particular focus on economic reform policy, trade issues and the War on Terrorism. She also analyzes NATO's evolving role in post-Cold War Europe.[5]
Views
In November 2008, McNamara was interviewed for a Christian Broadcasting Network article on Islam in Britain. She stated:
- "When you have a government which is so hampered by political correctness, that they're unwilling to assert national values of tolerance, of rule of law, of human rights, of women's rights... then you're creating mixed messages where you're saying the extremists can flourish," she said.[6]
