Richard John Moreton Goold-Adams (24 January 1916 - 23 March 1995) was a businessman and journalist involved in a number of important institutions in post-war Britain, many with a distinctly pro-American agenda. In 1955 he was involved in setting up ITN, and he was one of the four main figures behind the establishment of the Institute for Strategic Studies in 1958. He is a former member of the council of Chatham House where his name (along with others) is carved above a door in recognition of his donation to the refurbishment of the John Power Hall in the institute's diamond jubilee year.[1] Other bodies in which he played a prominent role included the British Atlantic Committee, the Atlantic Institute in Paris and Wilton Park.[2]
