Peter Grauer is the chairman of Bloomberg LP.
Career
Grauer began his career at banking group Citi in 1969, holding various positions in the eleven years he worked there. In 1980 he moved to US investment bank Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) as the managing director.
In 1989 he was a founding partner, along with Doug Wheat (another former DLJ employee), at Grauer & Wheat.
In 1991 he then moved back to DLJ, again as managing director. In 2000 DLJ was acquired by Credit Suisse and Grauer was appointed managing director of the bank.
Grauer succeeded Michael Bloomberg as the chairman, treasurer and CEO of Bloomberg LP in 2002, having been on the board at the firm since 1996.[1] In 2011 he changed his role to be only the chairman of Bloomberg.[2]
Letter to the Telegraph
On 1 April 2015 Grauer was one of 103 business leaders who wrote to the Telegraph praising the British Conservative Party's economic policies and claiming a Labour government would 'threaten jobs and deter investment' in the UK.[3]
