New Energy Finance, previously New Carbon Finance was acquired by Bloomberg in November 2009 to become Bloomberg New Energy Finance (UK registered), the world's largest low carbon and carbon markets advisor and researcher. It works with investors, corporations and governments, and has 125 analysts, in 10 offices in Europe, the Americas, Asia & Africa.

They also have sector specialists in 'wind, solar, biofuels, biomass and the carbon, energy efficiency, nuclear, and carbon capture and storage markets'[1]

Activities

Bloomberg produce up to date research on carbon markets, including occasional White papers, and are experts in enabling businesses to find the cheapest way to cut or offset their carbon emissions under the Kyoto protocol.

The annual Bloomberg New Energy Finance Summit

The high profile and ostentatious BNEF summits have been held annually since 2008. They are invitation-only and are considered 'the leading discussion forum for decision-makers in the clean energy and low carbon markets'. The 2010 summit will be held at at the expensive InterContinental London Park Lane Hotel, with side event dinners at the Saatchi Gallery and their Gala Awards Dinner at the Science Museum.[2]
