Michael Ellis has been the UK Conservative Party MP for Northampton North since 2010. [1]

In the 2015 general election, Ellis retained his seat with a majority of 3,245. [2]

Since May 2015, Ellis has been the parliamentary private secretary to the home secretary Theresa May.[3]

Activities

Since February 2011, Ellis has been a member of the Home Affairs Select Committee of the House of Commons and he was also appointed parliamentary adviser to the chairman of the Conservative Party Andrew Feldman in September 2012. [4]

In 2014 Ellis won government support for a 'Medical Innovation Bill', which he is working on with advertising guru Maurice Saatchi. This bill aims to make it 'easier for doctors who have both the fully-informed consent of their patients and the go-ahead of a Multi-disciplinary panel, to innovate in the treatment of cancer patients, seeking to achieve improved outcomes for patients and their families'.
