Martha Varney is Chief of Staff to Minister of State, Cabinet Office Oliver Letwin.[1]

Background

According to Civil Service News:

Varney has worked for Oliver Letwin since at least 2008 – she was a research assistant before becoming his special adviser in May 2010, and also worked at Tory HQ. Varney played a key role in helping to compile and proof-read policy contributions to draft the Conservative Party manifesto. And during the campaign she remained a key source of policy guidance, acting as a point-person for policy information and fact checking while Cameron’s team was on the road. She continues to work closely with the Number 10 team.
