Career

After completing a Masters, Clancy was appointed editor-in-in-chief of Europe by Satellite, the TV service managed by the European Commission and broadcasts EU institutions such as the European Parliament, the European Council and the European Central Bank.

In 2007 he joined the European Commission, first as a spokesman for African affairs development and humanitarian aid and then in 2010 as the spokesman for EU trade commissioner Karel De Gucht. De Gucht is regarded as the architect of the controversial TTIP deal, and has since joined Belgian lobbyists Belgacom.[1]

In March 2015 he joined lobbyists FTI Consulting's Brussels offices.[2]
