Joanna Cherry is the Scottish National Party MP for Edinburgh South West, having won the seat in the general election in May 2015.

Cherry won the election with a majority of 8,135. New to politics she said 'I came into politics because I wanted to make a difference. My values are on the progressive left.' [1] Cherry is amongst fifty new SNP MP's to have been voted in to parliament in the 2015 election and of this significant feet she stated that 'the people of Scotland have spoken very loudly tonight. It’s time for their voice to be held at Westminster.' [1]
