Joan Ryan has been the Labour Party member of Parliament for Enfield North since the 2015 general election. She was previously the MP from 1997 to 2010.

In the 2010 election Ryan failed to be re-elected following the expenses scandal which saw her ordered to repay some £5,000 in mortgage interest which she had 'overclaimed'.
