Ishtiaq Hussain is a team leader at the British Ministry of Justice.
Hussain is a former recruiter for the international Islamist organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Hussain was a manager at the London-based Quilliam Foundation think tank from September 2008 to November 2009.
He was regional Prevent manager for East London at the Department for Communities and Local Government from December 2009 to March 2011.
Following this he became a manager at the Department for Education from March 2011 to September 2015, initially as team manager - independent schools and inspections (2011-14), and later as team manager - complex analysis and casework (2014-15).
In September 2015, Hussain joined the Ministry of Justice as team leader of the 'independent review of extremism in prisons and probation service'.
