The International [Policy] Institute for Counter-Terrorism is an Israeli institute which is based in Herzliya, Israel. The International Institute for Counter-Terrorism is the shortened name for the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism; the short form is how the institute is most common.

The Centre was founded in 1996, and claims to be 'the leading academic institute for counter-terrorism in the world, facilitating international cooperation in the global struggle against terrorism.' It also claims to be 'an independent think tank providing expertise in terrorism, counter-terrorism, homeland security, threat vulnerability and risk assessment, intelligence analysis and national security and defense policy.' However, its independence is rhetorical, in reality the Institute is fully signed up to the ideology of the 'war on terror'.[1]
