The International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism is an Israeli institute which is based in the Interdisciplinary Center, a private educational institution in Herzliya, Israel. The International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (IICT) is the shortened and most common name for the institute.

Background

The Centre was founded in 1996, and describes itself as 'the leading academic institute for counter-terrorism in the world, facilitating international cooperation in the global struggle against terrorism.' It also claims to be 'an independent think tank providing expertise in terrorism, counter-terrorism, homeland security, threat vulnerability and risk assessment, intelligence analysis and national security and defense policy.'[1]

The Center runs the World Summit on Counter-Terrorism which was held for the eighth time on 8-11 September 2008.[2]
