Gabriel Siboni is the director of the Military and Strategic Affairs Program at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) and is also the editor of the its journal.[1]

Education

Gabriel Siboni holds a B.A. and M.A. in mechanical engineering from Tel Aviv University, and a doctorate in geographic information systems (GIS) from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.[1]

Career History

From the INSS website:

In his extensive IDF career, Colonel (ret.) Siboni served as a fighter and commander in the Golani Brigade and completed his service as the brigade’s reconnaissance unit commander. Within the scope of his reserve service, he served as senior staff officer of the Golani Brigade, deputy commander of the logistics unit, and chief of staff of an division. He serves as vice head and chief methodologist of the IDF Research Center for Force Utilization and Buildup – Experimentation Laboratory.
In addition to his work at INSS, Dr. Siboni serves as a consultant in a wide range of fields, including operational systems and military technology; risk management; information systems; and water, energy and environmental engineering.[1]
