Frank Roy was the Labour Party member of Parliament (MP) for Motherwell and Wishaw from 1997 to 2015.

Roy lost his seat in the 2015 general election to the Scottish National Party's Marion Fellows by 11,898 votes.[1]

Parliamentary roles

He has served as Assistant Whip (HM Treasury) 2005-06, Lord Commissioner (HM Treasury) (Whip) 2006-10, and Opposition Whip (Commons) 2010-10.[2]

Visit to the United Arab Emirates

Frank Roy was part of a 10-man parliamentary delegation to the United Arab Emirates in April 2012. The trip lasted for 5 days and gave the delegation the opportunity to meet with senior representatives from government agencies and private sector companies in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The government of the United Arab Emirates paid £3,500 toward his travel and accommodation. [3]
