Background & History

The European Travel Retail Council (ETRC) was established in 2004 by the board of the International Travel Retail Confederation (ITRC) who accepted the recommendation from the Strategic Working Group on Reorganisation to establish a trade association dedicated to working at the European level. The Tax Free World Association and the ITRC joined forces and worked together on the development of the ETRC to establish a vehicle for their European lobbying activities. [2]
