Dawn Butler is a Labour Party politician who was the Member of Parliament for Brent South from 2005 to 2010. She was also minister for Young Citizens and Youth Engagement in the Cabinet Office. [1]

Having failed to be re-elected in 2010, Butler was given a payoff of £32,383. This so-called resettlement payment however has more recently been surrounded by controversy, following her recall to the Labour Party to stand for the Brent South constituency in the upcoming 2015 general election. [2]
