David Green

David Green OBE, FRSA FiE is Chief Executive of the UK Business Council for Sustainable Energy (UKBCSE) which was established in 2002. This followed his previous role as Director of the Combined Heat and Power Association which is based in the same building (Grosvenor Gardens). He is also company secretary to the Carbon Capture and Storage Association (since 2005) also in the same building suggesting a revolving door with potential conflicts of interest.

According to Companies House registered directors in November 2009, he is also a director of the all party parliamentary sustainable energy group PRASEG, and holds other positions with the International Council for Sustainable Energy, Alcohol Services for the Community, COGEN, Community Heating Group, KNW Services, Keeping Newcastle Warm ltd, and Community Buildings Insulation Project. He is also listed here as Chief executive of the Carbon Capture and Storage Association from 2008.[1]

According to a biographical note on the UKBCSE website:

He was appointed by the Mayor of London to Chair the London Energy Partnership. He was a member of the UK Government delegations to the World Summit on Sustainable Development and in 2004 took part in the International Conference on Renewable Energy. He was a Commissioner for the LGA Climate Change Commission, which released its final report in December 2007. He is also a member of the high level Ministerial Advisory Group on Sustainable Communities. David Green was awarded the MBE in 1986 and the OBE in 2003.[2]

David Green MBE was also member of the Energy Advisory Panel, Director of the Combined Heat and Power Association, a Member of the Confederation of British Industry Energy Committee and a Trustee of National Energy Action.[3]

According to a biography provided by the World Energy Council:

David Green co-founded and launched the national charity Neighbourhood (now National) Energy Action that has worked, since 1981, with its local partners to secure warmer homes for over 4 million lower income households. He is now a Vice President of National Energy Action a campaign against fuel poverty.
David Green has also worked as advisor to the State Government in Victoria, Australia as well as the US Department of Energy, the New Zealand Government and various institutions of the European Union.
David is a: Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts | Fellow of the Energy Institute | Member of the Council of the Parliamentary Group for Energy Studies | Member of the high level Ministerial Advisory Group on Zero Carbon Homes | Member of the UK Governments Delegation to the World Summit on Sustainable Development, and the follow up International Renewable Energy Conference | Executive Officer of the British Energy Association.
David Green was award the PRASEG Award for Individual Achievement in 2007.[4]
