[1] In May 2015, Bryant was appointed shadow secretary of state for culture, media and sport. [2] In the wake of the 2015 leadership election, Bryant has now moved into the position of Shadow Commons Leader, having declined the post of Shadow Defence Secretary, citing disagreements over defence issues with newly elected leader Jeremy Corbyn.

[3] Since being elected in 2001, Bryant has carried out a number of different role in parliament including deputy leader of the House of Commons (2008-09), parliamentary under-secretary (2009), shadow minister for Europe (2010), shadow minister for home affairs (2011-13) and shadow minister for work and pensions (2013-14). [2]

Meeting with lobbyists

In June 2015, Labour MPs including Bryant, Chuka Umunna, Tristram Hunt, Emma Reynolds and Andy Burnham and peer Lord Mandelson, Conservative MP Sajid Javid and Mayor of London candidate Sol Campbell attended a bash at the Mondrian London hotel.
