Charles William John Burgess (born 2 January 1954), known as Charlie, is a journalist turned PR consultant who worked at the Guardian the Independent and the Daily Mail in a range of roles, including sports editor, news editor, media editor, travel editor and features executive. In 2006 he left the Independent to work as a PR consultant.[1]

Journalism career

  • Burgess worked on and off with the Guardian since the 1970s.
  • managing editor at the Independent and the Independent on Sunday, during the years running up to 1995. In 1995 he joined the Daily Mail as an executive on the features desk.
