Bircham Dyson Bell LLP describe themselves as a firm of 'solicitors and parliamentary agents'.[1] The firm notes that part of their work is as a lobbying consultancy:

As solicitors and Parliamentary Agents, Bircham Dyson Bell has a long and distinguished history of dealing with government and Parliament. However, uniquely within the sector, we have built on this expertise by establishing a specialist public affairs and communications practice which advises clients on all aspects of lobbying, media relations and stakeholder communications.[1]

Lobbying Transparency

BDB is an opponent of transparency, even questioning the need for public disclosure of clients. In its evidence to the Public Administration select committee in 2007 it noted:

Bircham Dyson Bell LLP is not a member of the APPC and, as a law firm, questions the value of published client lists as a regulatory tool in the UK. In our view, far greater emphasis should be placed upon the requirement for lobbyists to disclose who they are acting for in a particular situation.[2]
