Bernadette Kenny is a lawyer who has worked to the Lord Chancellor's Department, The Court Service, Department for Constitutional Affairs and HM Revenue & Customs.

She is currently the CEO of the Church of England Pensions Board.

Career

After graduating from university, Kenny was appointed legal adviser to the Lord Chancellor's Department in 1980, and policy adviser in 1982.[1]

She was appointed deputy circuit administrator to The Court Service in 1991.[1]

In 1993 she went back to the Lord Chancellor's Department as head of court service agency team, and in 1994 she moved back to The Court Service first as HR director, director of civil business in 1998 and director of operational policy in 1999.[1]

In 2002 she was appointed change director at the Department for Constitutional Affairs.[1]

In January 2005 she was drafted in as interim CEO of The Royal Parks.[1]

In May 2005 she was appointed director of customer contact and processing at HM Revenue & Customs and then director general of personal tax in 2006.[1]

She has been the CEO of the Church of England Pensions Board since May 2011, the role was approved "subject to the condition that for 12 months from her last day of service, she should not become personally involved in lobbying Government Ministers or civil servants, including Special Advisers, on behalf of her new employer".[2]
