Aryeh Shalev (died 2011) was an Israeli army officer.[1]

He was appointed head of the Production Department of the military intelligence directorate in 1967.[1]

His leadership of the department was heavily criticised by he Agranat Committee that investigated the Yom Kippur War. It found that he "bears responsibility for the most serious mistake made by the department which he heads and therefore he cannot continue to serve in MI."[2]

In 1974 he was transferred and appointed Governor of Judea and Samaria (the Israeli term for the West Bank territory occupied in 1967). In 1976 he retired from the IDF.[2]

In 1977 he joined the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies and was appointed a senior researcher for national security.[2]
