All Party Parliamentary Group on the Impact of Shale Gas
The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on the Impact of Shale Gas was set up in March 2018. Its purpose is to 'explore and debate legislation, policy, regulation and data on shale gas exploration and extraction in the UK and abroad'.
The APPG is chaired by Conservative MP Lee Rowley, who has vociferously opposed plans by giant petrochemical firm Ineos to explore for shale gas at Bramleymoor in the village of Marsh Lane. Rowley is one of two APPG member MPs whose constituencies include oil and gas licences held by Ineos. Co vice-chair Sir Kevin Barron MP represents Rother Valley, which includes another controversial Ineos site at Harthill.
Two other co-vice-chairs are Conservative MP Ben Bradley and Labour MP Louise Haigh. [1]

The APPG is planning to hold a session at Westminster on the 18 June 2018, and is calling for evidence on the impact of shale gas exploration.
