Alex Sweeney has worked for several companies that run immigration detention centres in the UK.[1]

Geo Group UK

Sweeney was a contract director for the Geo Group UK at Campsfield House IRC from May 2007 to April 2010. During 2009 he became centre manager. He had 'overall responsibility for the operational performance of the Centre, ensuring a safe and secure environment of those that live and work there, in line with the contract'. He was the 'youngest appointee as Contract Director by the Home Office in the history of the prison or detention estates'.
