Alan Hunt was a senior manager at the Geo Group UK.[1]

Prison Officers Association

Hunt was branch chairman of the Prison Officers Association at Harmondsworth IRC from 2007-2009 before the detention centre was taken over by the Geo Group UK.

  • Hunt was Head of Operations for the Geo Group UK at Harmondsworth IRC from May 2012 to December 2012. His role involved "Management of the Security and Operations departments", with "direct line management of six middle managers and departmental management of a team of over 70 frontline staff". He deputised in the absence of the centre manager and was involved with "managing and developing relationships with key external stakeholders including the Police and Immigration Enforcement Intelligence Team."
  • Hunt became the centre manager for the Geo Group UK at Harmondsworth IRC in December 2012 until December 2013, having "overall responsibility" for the detention centre. He help project manage an increase in "the delivery of additional bed-spaces to the customer, increasing operational capacity to 661" from 615.

Head Office

Hunt became Corporate Senior Operations Manager for the Geo Group UK from November 2013 until November 2014. He had "Line management of Contract Directors of two Immigration Removal Centres". He worked on "Project management of contract de-mobilisation", a reference to the Geo Group UK's contract to run Harmondsworth IRC which expired in September 2014.
