Golombok, who has given nearly 50 years' service to the Zionist movement in Glasgow was, with Mrs. Golombok, entertained at a receptum held to mark their departure to live in Birmingham. One of the founders of the first Junior Zionist Organisation in Glasgow, Mr. Golombok for many years served on the executive committee of the local [[Glasgow Zionist Organisation|Zionist Organisation]] of which he is hon. vice-president. He is also a former chairman of the [[Glasgow Va'ad L'Maan Habonim]]. Mr. [[Lewis Wolfson]] hon president of the Glasgow Zionist Organisation and president of Habonim, presented Mr. Golombok with a Golden Book certificate and paid warm tribute to him as one of the "enthusiastic back-room boys" of Zionist work in Scotland. A certificate for trees to be planted in Israel was also presented to Mr. Golombok by Mr. T. N. Tolley, chairman of the [[Ayr Hebrew Congregation]], who paid tribute to his services to the local community.
