The [[United Israel Appeal]] is a US based subsidiary of the [[Jewish Federations of North America]]. It was established in 1925 as the [[United Palestine Appeal]]. It was renamed the [[United Israel Appeal]] in 1938. After the Reconstitution of the [[Jewish Agency for Israel]] in 1971, for the first time, American Jewish leaders, through UIA, played a role in determining the policies of the [[Jewish Agency for Israel]] through their representation in its new governing bodies. In this capacity, 'UIA has helped serve as the living bridge between the American Jewish community and the Jewish Agency.
