Shevuoth Celebrations. The Festival of Shevuoth was celebrated with. much. enthusiasm at Westfield by a large number of guests. It is the first occasion on which holi- - daymakers have sought the amenities of [[Westfield Boarding House]] in such large numbers at Shevuoth., It followed largely on the linas of the celebrations at Passover time. Services were held in the drawing-room and, through the kindness of Mr. [[H. Freeman]], a Sepher Torah was made available. The sum of £5 was donated to the Board of Guardians and Talmud Torah. Mr. [[L. Daets]] acted as reader. The holding of the services added greatly to the pleasure and satisfaction of the guests, the Minyan being continued until the Maariv service on Sunday night. It has been arranged to have a Sepher Torah in the house permanently for holiday and other services. The: vast improvements brought about at Westfield have made a great impression on the visitors, who without exception expressed themselves as delighted with their stay. Since Passover the house has been very well filled and nearly a score of bookings had to be refused for Shevuoth. Golf is apparently the leading attraction, but the ladies and gentlemen who indulge in the simple recreation of walking come back ready for their meals, flushed and invigorated by the mildly stimulating climate of Ayr. The few who havc <ome down to convalesce have quickly picked up the tan of the sun and stored up new energy and health, while the children respond quickly to the healthful change of air. Included among the residents and visitors are Mrs. [[L. Bloch]], Mr. [[Maurice Bloch]], J.P., Mr. [[Joseph Bloch]], J.P., Mr. and [[Mrs. Daets]] and nieces, [[Mrs. Freeman]] of Belfast, [[Mrs. A.
