British National Michael Liebreich is Executive director of Bloomberg [[New Energy Finance]], the worlds largest advisory body for carbon markets and 'low carbon' technologies. He is an authority on low carbon tech and carbon trading and has advised the UN and US Senate. Previously he has been a successful venture capitalist, now seeing carbon markets as one of the most profitable and fast expanding areas to invest into.

He is on the Selection Committees for the 2009 [[Zayed Future Energy Prize]] and for the annual Euromoney and [[Ernst and Young]] Global Renewable Energy Awards. Prior to founding New Energy Finance in 2004 Michael helped to build over 25 companies as a venture capitalist, entrepreneur and executive. He acted as Non-Executive Director of [[Interactive Investor]] and was UK Managing Director of a division of [[Groupe Arnault]] which invested $700m of technology venture capital.
