Jacques was also an associate of [[Demos]] with his long time collaborator [[Geoff Mulgan]].

With [[Nina Temple]] (who joins [[Geoff Mulgan]] on Crime Concern and is an associate of [[Peter Mandelson]]), Jacques formed the [[Democratic Left]] (DL), which gained the [[CPGB]]'s £4m assets rather than those grouped around the [[Morning Star]]. The DL's [[New Times]] followed [[Changes]] as journalistic vehicles for Jacques's writings against Socialism.
