'''Donald Leonard Beaton''' (20 June 1929 - 9 June 1971) was a ''Guardian'' journalist who wrote about nuclear disarmament and held several appointments at military think-tanks. He co-authored ''The Spread of Nuclear Weapons'', which was the first serious book-length study of nuclear proliferation.
