From 1990 to 1993, Garrett-Cox worked at [[Fidelity Invesments]] and [[UNI Storebrand]]; in 1993 she was appointed investment director and head of American equities at [[Hill Samuel Asset Management]]; in 2000 she joined [[Aberdeen Asset Management]] Ltd as a group chief investment officer, chief executive and executive director; and in 2004 she was chief investment officer and executive director at [[Morley Fund Management]] (now [[Aviva Investors]])
