		+	:We became co-chairs of Henrietta Barnett's Jewish Society last summer, as we had heavily benefited from our JSoc since joining the school. We now want to give something back so that the younger years can continue to enjoy Jewish experiences once we have left. Together, we organise weekly lunchtime sessions run by an assortment of speakers, with the assistance from [[UJIA]]. Subjects cover a range of topics - no week is the same!

		+	:Even though the level of religious practice of Jewish pupils here varies, JSoc sessions enable people to connect and engage with their faith in an inclusive environment, while still attending a secular school. It fosters greater connections between Jews in different year groups who otherwise would not know each other, and has therefore helped to create a welcoming family environment for everyone involved.

		+	:Since becoming co-chairs, we have found it deeply rewarding to watch our JSoc grow and expand, especially among the younger years, as well as seeing people become even more involved in sessions. One of the highlights of this year was our session to commemorate [[Holocaust Memorial Day]] in January, which attracted many non-Jewish pupils and teachers, as well as Jewish students. We were fortunate and honoured to host [[Gerald Granston]], a Jewish refugee from Germany, who described his experiences during the war. It was wonderful to have more than 100 students and teachers in attendance, as we were able to bring a really important part of Jewish history to the wider school.
