* The Lord Howe of Aberavon CH, QC, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs from 1983-89, became President of the Centre in 1992.

===Vice Presidents===

* Graham Greene CBE, was Chairman of the Great Britain-China Centre from 1986-1997 (committee member since 1985). He was appointed as a vice-president since 1997. He was also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the British Museum.
* Lady Pamela Youde OBE, was vice chairman of the Great Britain-China Centre 1988-2000, and is Trustee of the Great Britain-China Educational Trust since 2000.
* Sir David Brewer CMG is a Director and Senior Consultant to [[International Financial Services London]]. He was Lord Mayor or London (2005-2006). Previously he was a Special Advisor to the Sedgwick Group and he is an Alderman for the Ward of Bassishaw in the City of London. Was GBCC chairman October 1997-2004.

Deceased 17 July 2005 - Sir [[Edward Heath]] KG MBE, Vice-President of GBCC - was Prime Minister at the time of the establishment of full diplomatic relations with China in 1972. He was appointed to the committee in 1984 until his death.
