Protests and counter-protests formed outside the Hendon premises; police said the advertised event was cancelled at that site and it went ahead at another address. == Regulatory compliance case and controversy ==

On 17 January 2024 the Commission told ''Middle East Eye'' it had opened a regulatory compliance case “to assess concerns raised about an event allegedly hosted by the charity” and had contacted the trustees. That is a lower-level engagement than a statutory inquiry under section 46 of the Charities Act 2011. The current full-print register page carries no inquiry or compliance alert.<ref name="MEE17" /><ref name="CCFull" />

Simon had posted Gaza footage on social media. Critics circulated the charity’s address; a lunchtime gathering outside 240 Hendon Way involved protesters and counter-protesters. The ''Jewish Chronicle'' reported that the talk moved to another venue and quoted Leaman on its intended pastoral purpose. ''Middle East Eye'' separately reported the Cave Club / lone-soldiers link in Jerusalem; that report has not been adopted as a Commission finding on the register.<ref name="JC17" /><ref name="MEE24" />
