World Conservation Trust Foundation

The World Conservation Trust Foundation is a designated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization under the United States tax code. It has a special relationship with IWMC World Conservation Trust, a non-profit organization that was established in 1994 to promote the sustainable utilization of wildlife. WCTF provides funding for IWMC (formely known as International Wildlife Management Consortium) projects around the world. WCTF is registered as a corporation in the District of Columbia. It has a Board of Directors and its President is Eugene Lapointe. He is also in the board of directors for the IWMC as well as having been secretary general of CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, from 1982 to 1990. WCTF and IWMC believe in "the sustainable utilization of wildlife". They believe in the killing of animals for fur,food and ivory. They support hunting, whaling and killing in areas throughout the world. They frequently mention the lack of evidence to support the falling of fish stocks or the endangering of species. They underline the fact that often these figures are exaggerated and that plenty stock are available for culling.

"The agenda of these groups is to prevent the killing of any whales, however abundant they are. But this is short-sighted"

The website goes to far as to say that if these animals aren't killed they will be harming themselves, "Unless a culling program is introduced there will be long-term damage to plants, the soil and other wildlife, and ultimately to the elephants themselves."
