Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation that is dedicated to 'achieving extraordinary improvements in human and animal health.' [1]

As a charity it focuses on supporting the 'brightest minds in biomedical research and the medical humanities.' It supports a wide variety of research including public engagement, education and the application of research to improve health. [1]
